Paratin Injection

Composition :

Each ml injectable solution contains Ivermectin BP 10 mg.

Description :

Ivermectin is an injectable parasiticide for cattle. It works by paralyzing the parasite. One low-volume dose e­ffectively treats and controls the following internal and external parasites that may impair the health of cattle: gastrointestinal roundworms, lungworms, grubs, sucking lice, and mange mites of cattle.

Indications :

Ivermectin Injection shows excellent efficacy for the treatment of following internal and external parasites.

Internal parasites:

• Gl nematodes of cattle, bu­ffalo, goat, sheep, and camel: Haemonchus, mecistocirrus, Ostertagia, Trichostrongylus, Strongyloides, Cooperia, Nematodirus, Oesophagostomum, Toxocara, Vitulorum, Trichuris, Chabertia, Bunostomum, Ascaris, Hyostrongylus, Metastrongylus, Stephanurus, etc.
• Nematodes of the lung: Dictyocaulus viviparous in cattle and deer, Dictyocaulus laria in sheep, goat, and wild ruminants, Prostostrongylus rufescens in sheep, Dictyocaulus arnfeild in the horse.
• Gl nematodes of Dog: Ancylostoma, tricchuris, toxcocara.
• Gl nematodes of Horse: Strongylus spp, Oxyuris equi, Parascaris equorum, Hebronema spp, Trichostrongylus axei, Strongyloides, etc.

External parasites:

• Arthropod parasites: In Cattle: Warble y- Hypoderma bovis Myiasis. Screw worm y- Crysomyabezzinana. Sucking lice- Linognathus, Haematopinus. Biting lice- Demalinia. MitesSarcoptes psoroptes, chorioptes, demodex. Tick- Boophilus ornithodorus. In Horse: Gastrophillus spp. In Sheep: Nasal bot by oestrus ovis. Mites- Sarcoptes, chorioptes, demodex. In Dog: Mites- Demodex, Sarcoptes, Otodectes. In Cat: Mites- Notoedres.
• Nematodes: In Cattle: Humpsore causing nematodes- Stephanolaria assamensis infestation.

Contra-Indications :

Hypersensitive to Ivermectin. Contraindicated for Intravenous or Intramuscular use.

Dosage and Administration :

Cattle: Ivermectin should be given only by Subcutaneous injection under the loose skin in front of or behind the shoulder at the recommended dose level of 0.2 mg per kg body weight, i.e. 1 ml for 50 kg body weight (single injection).

In the case of Humpsore in cattle the dose may be repeated after 28 days. Divide doses greater than 10 ml between two injection sites to reduce occasional discomfort or site reaction.

Dogs: By Subcutaneous route: 0.2 mg/kg body weight, i.e. 0.5 ml for 25 kg body weight.

Or, as prescribed by the registered Veterinarian Physician.

Side Effects :

Transitory discomfort has been observed in some cattle following subcutaneous administration. A low incidence of soft tissue swelling at the injection site has been observed. Ivermectin may cause a shock-like reaction in some dogs. If this occurs, should contact with a veterinarian. If side e­ffects such as stomach upset, vomiting, diarrhea, dilated pupils, unsteadiness when walking, or a dazed demeanor are noticed, then should contact with a veterinarian.

Precautions :

Ivermectin has been assigned to pregnancy category C by the FDA. Ivermectin is 10 times safe in ruminants and dogs. It is safe for breeding and pregnant animals.

Withdrawal Times :

Meat: The cow should be slaughtered 21 days after taking the drug. Milk: Milk can be taken 28 days after taking the drug.

Storage Condition :

Store at a temperature below 30 ⁰C, protected from light & keep in a dry and cool place. Keep all medicines out of reach of children.

Packing :

Each carton contains one vial of 10 ml and 50 ml injectable solution.
