Each ml Injection Solution contains Iron Dextran USP 100 mg and Cyanocobalamin (Vitamin B12) BP 100 mcg.
Irondex is a sterile injectable solution containing Iron Dextran and Cyanocobalamin (Vitamin B12). It provides high hemoglobin levels for the prevention and control of physiological and pathological anemic conditions in different species of animals. Iron in the form of heme is vital to many metabolic functions including oxygen transportation in hemoglobin. Iron is also a component of multiple enzymes, including cytochromes, necessary for energy generation and drug metabolism. Synergistic action of Iron Dextran and Vitamin B12 maintain the production and maturation of RBC, thus prevents anemia. It is quickly absorbed, completely utilized and non-toxic.
Iron and Vitamin B12 deficiency is the most frequent cause of anemia, especially in newborn and pregnant animals. Irondex is an ideal hematinic injectable solution and is indicated to prevent and control various types of physiological and pathological anemia in animals.
Vitamin E deficiency.
For subcutaneous or intramuscular administration.
Calves: 4-8 ml for 3-5 days intramuscularly.
Goats & Sheep: 4-5 ml for 3-5 days intramuscularly.
Cattle & Buffalo: 10-15 ml for 3-5 days intramuscularly.
Dog & Cat: 1.5-2.5 ml for 3-5 days intramuscularly.
Piglet (within first weeks of birth): 2 ml for 3-5 days intramuscularly (rump muscle). If necessary, repeat after 10 days.
