Ciprofloxacin is a member of Fluoroquinolone and shows bactericidal activity and a powerful bactericidal effect by inhibiting DNA-gyrase which is responsible for the supercoiling of DNA. It is a time-tested broad-spectrum antibiotic.
Proxacin is effective against several diseases such as C.R.D, C.C.R.D, Mycoplasmosis, Salmonellosis, Colibacillosis, Infectious Coryza, and Pasteurellosis. Streptococcosis, Staphylococcosis, etc. and may be used in viral diseases like Gumboro, Newcastle disease, etc. followed by secondary bacterial infections.
It should not be given to patients with a history of hypersensitivity to Ciprofloxacin or to other quinolones.
Poultry: Treatment: 1 ml per 1-2 liter of drinking water for 3-5 days.
Prevention: 1 ml per 4-8 liter of drinking water for 3 days.
Or as directed by the Veterinarian.
Ciprofloxacin administered together with theophylline can lead to elevated blood levels of theophylline. Ciprofloxacin can enhance the action of the anticoagulant warfarin and increase the risk of bleeding.
Central nervous system (CNS) toxicity; gastrointestinal reactions; hepatotoxicity; hypersensitivity reactions; photosensitivity; photo toxicity.
It should be used with caution in patients with suspected or known CNS disorders.
Store at a temperature below 25 ⁰C, protect from light & keep in a dry and cool place. Keep all medicines out of reach of children.
