Linospin Injection

Lincomycin and Spectinomycin



Composition :

Each ml injectable solution contains Lincomycin hydrochloride USP 50 mg and Spectinomycin Sulfate USP 100 mg.

Description :

The combination of Lincomycin and Spectinomycin acts as an additive and in some cases synergistic. Spectinomycin acts bacteriostatic or bactericidal, depending on the dose, against mainly Gram-negative bacteria like Campylobacter, E. coli, and Salmonella spp. Lincomycin acts bacteriostatic against mainly Gram-positive bacteria like Mycoplasma, Treponema, Staphylococcus and Streptococcus spp. Cross-resistance of Lincomycin with Macrolides can occur.

Indications :

Cattle: Respiratory infections, arthritis, mastitis and omphalitis.

Chicken and Turkey: CRD (caused by E. coli); Mycoplasmosis associated or not to E. coli, Aerosacculitis caused by E. coli, Avian cholera caused by Pasteurella multocida, necrotic enteritis.

Sheep & Goats: Respiratory infections, mycoplasmosis, and Foot rot.

Cats & Dogs: Treatment of respiratory, intestinal, urinary, skin infections (including wounds and abscess) and arthritis caused by organisms sensitive to the action of lincomycin and/or spectinomycin, including Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., Bacteroides spp., Clostridium spp., Fusobacterium spp., Actinomyces spp, Mycoplasma spp.

Contra-Indications :

  •  Hypersensitivity to Lincomycin and/or Spectinomycin.
  • Administration to animals with impaired renal and/or hepatic function.
  • Do not administer to rabbits, guinea pigs, chinchillas, horses, and ruminants with an active rumen and intestinal microbial flora.

Dosage and Administration :

For IM or Subcutaneous Injection.
Cattle: 1 ml/10 kg body weight once daily for 4 days.

Chicken & Turkey: 0.2 ml/kg body weight once daily for 3 days.

Sheep & Goats: 1 ml/10 kg body weight once daily for 3 days.

Cats & Dogs: 1 ml/5 kg body weight once daily for 3 days.

Or, as prescribed by the registered Veterinarian Physician.

Side Effects :

Hypersensitivity reactions. Shortly after injection a slight pain, itching, or diarrhea occurs.

Precautions :

Safety of the product has been shown in cows during gestation and in suckling calves when used in cows.

Withdrawal Times :

Meat: The cow, sheep & goats should be slaughtered 14 days after taking the drug.

Chicken & turkey should be slaughtered 7 days after taking the drug.

Milk: Milk can be taken 3 days after taking the drug.

Storage Condition :

Store at a temperature below 30 ⁰C, protected from light & keep in a dry and cool place. Keep all medicines out of reach of children.

Packing :

Each carton contains one vial of 50 ml or 100 ml solution.
